When told that Cal’s Jahvid Best still thinks he can run a 10.3 in the 100m, USC’s Taylor Mays said he could do it, too. He stressed that he wouldn’t necessarily beat Best in a race, but that he’d be ‘right there with him.’ Mays said he challenged Best to a race earlier down the hotel hallway.
“Coach Tedford said I couldn’t beat him and I said ‘Coach, don’t count me out like that,’” said Mays.
Mays said that if he wanted to get to New York for the Heisman ceremony, he’d ‘need to get some interceptions first.’ USC is going to help by giving him some special packages to feature his special skills.
