When talking to the media following Monday’s practice, Coach Carroll had nothing but praises to say about two freshmen in particular.

– Carroll on quarterback Matt Barkley: “He threw some terrific balls today. He’s progressing. He had a very good day today.”

– Carroll on linebacker Jarvis Jones, who moved to strong-side linebacker Monday: “He had a remarkable day. It looks like he’s going to be in the middle of everything.”
