Corp is last year’s Sanchez, which means Barkley is the new Mustain, making Mustain Garrett Green. And Garrett Green…well still nobody knows who Garrett Green is. Confused? Last year about the same time, Mark Sanchez was carted off the practice field with a dislocated knee cap, putting his season as the starter in jeopardy and giving Mitch Mustain the chance to win the spot. On Monday, projected starter Aaron Corp went down when a defensive lineman rolled onto his left knee. Corp has been out of commission since then, resting the swollen knee, giving Barkley an opportunity to command the first string offense. That means Barkley will be numero uno when the Trojans don full pads for the first time in practice today.

The good news for Corp was that X-rays showed the ligaments remained intact. Now all Corp can do is sit around; watching Barkley lead his team; waiting for the results of the MRI; waiting to get back into the swing of things before the train passes him by.
