Trick question. It can be eaten at all times, in all situations (even hurricanes, as if it’s thick enough, its consistency can withstand up to Category 3 winds). It is the world’s most perfect food.

Fun fact: I sold my first screenplay, a teen sex comedy, to an Israeli production company. It was called “Israeli Hummus” and featured a memorable scene where the male lead was caught humping a bowl of freshly mashed chickpeas. It became one of the highest grossing comedies of all time in Israel. The movie was later adapted by Universal Pictures in the US and made into the now famous, award-winning film “Million Dollar Baby.”
