Robert Woods, rated by Scout as the top receiver in the nation, has decided to call USC his home away from home. Not that far away. The Gardena Serra receiver/defensive back/track star has a formidable burst off the line and incredible shift-ability and control. And his HS stats aren’t that bad either: 1,378 yards and 26 total touchdowns as a Junior. Woods commented on his decision, quoted on ESPN:
“I love the pace and tempo of the practices there,” Woods said. “There’s such a high energy there and I just feed on that. Plus they have a great program, they’re on top and I want to win. Winning is the most important thing to me and I know at USC, we’ll be competing for national championship every year.”
Sorry, UCLA… you’re just not Robert Woods’ type. You see, Woods likes winning. Unfamiliar with the term? Well, you know despair, hopelessness, futility and suffering? Winning is the opposite of all that. Know what? Just ask Neuheisel. I think he won something significant once…like ten years ago. That’s worth the $1,250,000 salary you’re paying him. Right? No matter if the UC system had to cut their enrollment by 6%, and make $850 million in pay cuts.
