Lou Holtz Lost It

ESPN analyst and former Notre Dame head coach Lou Holtz has finally lost his last semblance of sanity. Just when you thought there couldn’t be a bigger national championship mismatch than (anybody) and Ohio State, Lou Holtz opens his mouth and unleashes a whole lot of crazy. When asked who he thought might play in the next National Championship game, Holtz responded Florida and Notre Dame. Yes, the Gators and the Fighting Irish. Now, to Holtz’ credit, he doesn’t say the Irish are the second best team. He just thinks they have a pretty good chance to run the table, because the Irish have such a weak schedule with the exception of USC at home.

Impossible that USC will lose at home to a team they beat last year, 38-3? One word: Stanford. Let’s take impossible out of the vocabulary. Impossible, no. Improbable, yes.
