Aaron Corp, who was set to be the Trojans’ starting QB before breaking his leg this past summer, has one more chance to prove his worth. Corp has gotten the nod to start against Washington, being that freshman Matt Barkley still has not yet recovered 100% from a bone bruise in his throwing shoulder, suffered in last weekend’s game against Ohio State. Corp has a lot to prove, even more so that it seemed Carroll was reluctant to announce him the starter this weekend, despite that Barkley hadn’t practiced all week and Corp was taking all the first team snaps. Corp has been billed as a duel threat, the Trojans’ most mobile QB in years.
Taylor Mays has been taking it easy after spraining his knee against the Buckeyes. He will travel with the Trojans and will likely be a game day decision. Another interesting development is 3rd string QB Mitch Mustain might just find his way onto the field after all. Mustain was seen punting the ball on Wednesday and Thursday, and he’s apparently got a decent leg. The Trojans are working on not repeating the field position massacre that almost lost them the game against Ohio State.
