ESPN: Riley Staying At OSU

ESPN’s Ted Miller reports that #1 choice for Pete’s replacement is no more:

Mike Riley has agreed to a three-year contract extension with Oregon State, which would seemingly end his rumored candidacy to replace Pete Carroll at USC. The extension runs through the 2019 season. Terms, a school spokesman said, will be disclosed later.

That pushes current Jacksonville Jags’ head coach Jack Del Rio to the top of the list. The talk that he might be joined by Ed Orgeron and maybe even Norm Chow should be music to Trojan fans’ ears.

However it’s not all roses — Herm Edwards is sitting at #2 right now. A possibility that should have everyone upset enough to pick up their phone and call USC directly to voice their outrage.
