Knowing they couldn’t replace Seattle-bound Pete Carroll with one mere mortal, USC made the only rational move possible on Tuesday and opted to get the key pieces of their championship band back together: Lane Kiffin on vocals, his dad Monte on bass, Ed Orgeron on drums, and Norm Chow on lead guitar.

Welcome back to Heritage Hall, gentlemen.

UPDATE: Apparently Norm hasn’t formally agreed to bring his axe back to the other side of Los Angeles just yet. Stay tuned for updates on Chow’s second coming.
