A shot of The Daily Bunch’s field trip to Sammy’s last week in NYC. For the record, that thing to the left of the seltzer bottle is chicken fat, and on the right is a bottle of Ketel One frozen in ice. This picture was taken after a gorging of epic proportions, which included a variety of Romanian specialties (mostly of the steak variety) that I won’t even try to recite here. Beyond the food, you have to see the place itself, whose impossible decor and house DJ may or may not have been hermetically sealed since the 1970’s, to understand the visceral experience that is Sammy’s. If you haven’t been, I strongly recommend a trip ASAP.
