Google offer of ultra-fast fiber internet connections for a few lucky communities got somebody’s attention:

Topeka Mayor Bill Bunten signed a proclamation Monday calling for Topeka to be known for the month of March as “Google, Kansas — the capital city of fiber optics.”

Meaningless proclamations – a politician’s favorite attention-getter; but how awkward is this going to be if they don’t get it?
