I will be the first to admit that, after loving her as part of Upright Citizens Brigade for years, I had had my fill of Amy Poehler by the end of her SNL run and wasn’t all that excited about Parks & Recreation when it was announced (or at least, not for her as much as Aziz).
But she is knocking it completely out of the stadium with this season, the show’s first full run. And thankfully, NBC hasn’t managed to mess it up yet, because they got picked up for a third season, thanks, no doubt, to the perfect delivery of lines like this one from last week’s episode:
I can’t kill the possum because it might be innocent. I can’t let the possum go because it might be guilty. Can’t make a good soup, can’t do a handstand in a pool, can’t spell the word lieutenant. There’s a lot of “can’ts” in my life right now.
