Jimmy Clausen Fell Out of the First Round, Mel Kiper Ends Up Looking Like a Jackass

Jimmy Clausen: The Notre Dame QB wasn’t picked in the first round. In the months-long battle between Kiper-McShay battle over Clausen, Kiper (who had Clausen as the 4th best prospect in the draft) loses. Teams that could be looking at a QB tonight include: Cleveland, Oakland, Buffalo, Jacksonville and maybe the Vikings. It’s not like Clausen needs the money (family’s well-off), so falling out of the first round is more a hit to his pride than his wallet … but imagine if he had stayed in school. Brian Kelly did wonders for Tony Pike’s college career and pro prospects, can you imagine what he could have done this year with Clausen throwing to tight end Kyle Rudolph and receiver Michael Floyd?
