Former USC coach Pete Carroll told the Seattle media that the severity of the NCAA’s sanctions is a sign that it is “trying to dismantle” the Trojans’ football program.

Carroll, now coach of the Seahawks, accepted responsibility for what happened during his tenure at USC but continued to insist he and his staff “weren’t aware” of what was going on with Reggie Bush and his family.

Carroll also reiterated that his leaving USC for Seattle “had nothing to do with” the NCAA investigation.
