USC filed an appeal with the NCAA today asking that the two year bowl ban be reduced to a one year ban and that the scholarship losses per year be reduced from ten to five. USC called the sanctions “too severe” and “inconsistent with precedent.”

The University has accepted the bowl ban for the 2010 season. The NCAA’s will review the appeal in either late September or early November.
