It is beginning to look like sophmore Devon Kennard beat out junior Chris Galippo at starting middle linebacker. Kennard got the majority of first-team reps at practice yesterday. Galippo will still play an important role as backup at all three linebacker spots.

As we noted yesterday, Marc Tyler and Robert Woods are getting the majority of first-team reps at tailback and the #2 wide receiver spot. Nickell Robey is getting the majority reps at cornerback opposite Shareece Wright.

On the O-Line front, Butch Lewis returned to practice yesterday and should be ready for the opener. Khaled Holmes injured his neck in practice but an MRI revealed only what Holmes called “a pinched nerve.” Holmes thinks he will be ready for the Hawaii game.

Coach Kiffin is expected to release and official depth chart on Saturday.
