On Sunday Night, USC (10-6, 2-1) defeated FUCLA (9-6, 1-2) 63-52 in front of a sold out crowd at the Galen Center. Dating back to the 2009 Pac-10 tournament, the USC men’s basketball team has defeated UCLA four times in a row. USC’s coach Kevin O’Neill is now 3-0 vs. the Bruins.

Coach O’Neill said after the game:

“I guess that’s important around here. They are the benchmark that you measure yourself against. When you beat UCLA, you beat tradition.”

Games balls should go to Alex Stepheson, Nikola Vucevic. Stepheson playing without a cast for the first time in a long time grabbed 16 rebounds and scored 13 points. Vucevic scored 20 on 9-16 shooting. An energetic sellout crowd should also get a special mention. The Trojans fed of the crowd energy the entire game. Vucevic said of the crowd:

“It was crazy coming out for warm-ups an hour before the game and the student section was already packed.”

The Trojans have won 6 of their last 8. Their next game is Wednesday on the road against Oregon (7-9, 0-4) at 7:30pm.
