GOOGLE GOES GEHRY: Google just leased 100,000 square feet in the Binoculars Building–designed by Gehry and featuring a huge (and quite fitting for Google) binocular sculpture created by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen–in Venice, where they’ll relocate L.A. operations (currently based in Santa Monica) during 2011. The move is part of Google’s ambitious effort to hire more than 6,000 new employees this year.
