From my new favorite photoblog of the moment, the amazing Bill’s Long Way Home, where Bill Lucas (Chris’s dad) shares photos from his long journey back from Vietnam:

Taken in 1970, the two pictures around the destroyed artillery track were taken more for fun rather than any artistic value.  We were traveling in Israel from the Dead Sea toward Jericho when we came on this relic of the 1967 war.  Coming from RVN (South Vietnam), this was a familar sight for me but others were intrigued so we stopped and explored.  It was hot and she was still in her bathing suit so I just snapped off a couple of pictures.  I suppose it’s not just every day you see a girl in a bikini in the desert by a wrecked gun…
