USC alum Will Ferrell will join the cast of The Office on April 14th on NBC. A clip of the teaser trailer after the jump…
Bring it in…
Ferrell originally was supposed to do a four-episode arc to help transition Steve Carrell’s departure from the show. But in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ferrell said that he will be joining the show full time.
When asked about rumors that he would Carell’s permanent replacement Ferrell told EW:
“Yes, I’m taking over. My character’s name is Deangelo Vickers, he loves the American Southwest, and he’s just kind of in his own way going to step into Michael Scott’s shoes and try to fill them. I’m friends with Steve and a fan of the show, and I just selfishly wanted to do one episode with him, and they pitched multiple ones, and I said, ‘That’d be great.’
When asked if the multiple episodes would be a regular gig Ferrell replied:
“Yeah, a regular, full-time gig.”
Is Will joking? Probably, but who knows…. Regardless, one thing is for sure. Will Ferrell be back on NBC in April making us laugh.
