36 years ago today SNL made its first debut on NBC.

On Oct. 11, 1975, NBC debuted a scrappy late-night sketch comedy show, giving it a shot as a replacement for reruns of Johnny Carson. 36 years later, it (arguably) may not be as funny as it once was… but it’s still kickin’.
