French swimmer Clement Lefert keeps the streak alive. Since 1912 a USC Trojan has won an Olympic Gold Medal in every Summer Games.

Lefert swam the third leg and helped France upset the Americans in the 4x100m freestyle relay. Lefert also beat out fellow Trojan Vladimir Morozov who is a member of the Russian team. Morozov and the Russian finished third for the bronze.

Congratulations and fight on to both or you!

And SPOILER ALERT….

Lefert also swam the third leg of the 4x200m freestyle relay today and picked up a silver medal for France.

Lefert tweeted after the race,

“Gold and silver in the house for USC Athletics! Thanks for the support. It’s amazing to be a Trojan.”
