USC Trojans Jennifer Kessy and April Ross upset Brazil’s Larissa Franca and Juliana Silva in women’s beach volleyball to advance to the gold medal game. They had played Franca and Silva nine times in the past. They had lost all nine matches. They won when it mattered most.

USC needed running back depth. They got with the transfer of Silas Redd from Penn State to USC. The 5’10”, 210 lb back is immediately eligible for 2012 season. Troy Polamalu joined the Dan Patrick Show this morning to talk about concussions. Polamalu told Dan that he has had eight or nine concussions during his playing career and has lied to trainers about injuries to stay in games.
