The Bears are coming

Beware Trojans–according to the Daily Californian, the always pesky Cal fans will be coming out

in force to the Coliseum on October 9:

Nearly 1,000 Cal fans woke up early in the morning yesterday to wait in line outside the Cal Athletics ticket office for a chance to sit in the

student section when No. 10 Cal faces No. 1 USC in Los Angeles on Oct. 9.

I know….1,000 isn’t exactly intimidating; but remember, this is Berkeley we’re talking about. Any time a thousand of them get out of bed early for

anything (besides a sale on jasmine and patchouli), it’s worth noting.

As the current 10th ranked team in the nation, it’s easy to comprehend the Berkeley fans’ enthusiasm. Of course, as the last team to beat USC (and spoil

their undefeated 2003), you can also understand the Trojans’ thirst for Golden Bear blood.

Which leaves just one question–do we really have to wait until October 9 for this one?
