You guys are a bunch of tardlets. USC was hardly man-handled by Texas. Texas won on the feet of Vince Young and a couple questionable late calls by USC. If USC had won, you guys would have been crying that Texas was overrated and hadn’t played anyone.

All you retards claiming the “Crystal Ball” national championship is the only national championship in the country are ignorant. The NCAA recognizes two trophies (EQUALLY) every year as college football national champions: the associated press and the BCS. Now usually one team wins both but alas in 2003 the trophies went to two different teams. So according to the NCAA (which is all that really matters in this case) the 2003 national championship was split. Yes LSU won the crystal football (eventhough three of the 63 coaches broke a signed contract in order to vote for USC) and USC won the AP trophy and both went into the record books as national champions in 2003.
Sorry LSU but you weren’t undisputed national champions any way you look at it. You shared your national championship with USC. Blame the god awful BCS, blame the coaches poll, blame anyone but USC. It’s not our fault that you didn’t win the AP poll that year. We would have loved to play you guys so that all this nonsense over who was the best could have been settled but it’s all in the past now so GET OVER IT!
How about rather than argue about something that happened 2 years ago you work on improving your current program. We had our shot at another national title this year and the year before…where was LSU then? We have had the top recruiting class for the last 4 years in a row…where is LSU now? first of all, usc will not have a run at the national title again. When you lose a starting qb and rb and already have a questionable defense, i dont think a championship is in the future. Maybe usc could win the pac 10 but they wont do it undefeated. I understand how the national championship was split in 03 even though im against it, but i will say that auburn got screwed in 04. auburn had 4 players go in the first round of the draft the following year. theres no way they did not deserve a split championship or a shot at the title against usc. i think the only way this can be settled is if some sort of playoff is installed. div. 1 college football is the only sport without playoffs that i know of.

what a championship caliber team. In ’03 you played agains one ranked team in the regular season #14 Washington State. You lost to an unranked Cal team. You beat the #4 BCS team in the Rose Bowl, how does all of this constitute you winning a championship? LSU defeated three top 25 teams, lost to a top 25 team, and defeated the #2 BCS team. In ’04 you beat two top 25 teams in the regualr season and beat the #2 BCS team. Auburn defeated 4 of the top 15 ranked teams in the regular season and didn’t get a chance to whip your little asses. In ’05 you just were flat out beat by a good Texas team. Much more talented all around, and a better coached game! So, let’s see you have won only one national championship, which was in ’04. You can continue to kiss ass to ESPN and all of the other ingnorant morans that put you on the top, becuase of name sake!
