Saturday’s Unsung Hero: David Kirtman

Trojan FB David Kirtman (with Steve Smith)Just a brief note here — after reading the recaps, one guy who is definitely not getting enough credit for his role in Saturday’s 38-28 victory is fullback David Kirtman. When the Trojan offense couldn’t spread the ball and find openings to run through, Kirtman came up with some huge catches that bought LenDale White and Reggie Bush some room to run. Kirtman finished the day with seven catches for 97 yards, leading the Trojans in receiving on the day.

That sound you hear is teams across the country groaning “oh great, the Trojans found ANOTHER weapon…good for them.”

  1. Yeah it was the only pass we could count on Leinart completing because of that cheap late hit from an ASU Scum Devil.

It takes a couple days to fully recover from concussions. I should know. I’ve had three of them.

And if you watched the second half of last week’s Oregon game you could tell Kellen Clemens, a way better QB than Sam Keller, was not all himself either.

  2. And oh yeah. MERCER ISLAND BABY!!!!!!

that is Kirtman’s hometown. nothing like Inglewood or Compton. more like Beverly Hills or Sun Valley.

but he’s still claiming it. fuck yeah!
