Good grief, I wish I hadn’t seen that! Yikes!
-
Hey that guy comming to the rose bowl!
-
To beat the Longhorns, the Trojans will have to cheat, just like they did to beat the Irish. Without Reggie “the push” Bush’s illegal push of Leinart over the end zone, the Trojans would have lost at Notre Dame.
-
Hmm…let’s see. Cheaters and murderers are among those who have won Heisman trophies at USC. Oh, and the players take football classes to maintain academic eligibility! How is that in line with NCAA rules? What a disgrace to college football!
-
USC building a dynasty out of weak competition. It’s a shame that Va Tech never got another shot then we wouldn’t be talking about the “streak”. Really the only thing that is required of USC is two tough games a year. Notre Dame and then the BCS. Whoop dee doo. Come play in the ACC or shoot even the SEC and lets see how this would have turned out. The Pansy Ten is the no defense league. Just look at the stats. Yeah USC will win the third title in as many years but wouldn’t everybody like to see them tangle with Ohio State or shoot even Auburn?
-
Oh and I almost forgot. GO TEXAS!!!!
-
Mike, we’re laughing at your ridiculous, emotional outburst because it’s so transparent with jealousy and anger, which is only eating you up on the inside. Actually, Mike, we’re not really laughing at your outburst–we’re laughing at YOU! Good luck on the 4th, crybaby. Actually UT is a pretty good team in a pretty good conference, but it’s obvious you don’t know sh*t about the PAC 10. We heard it all last year, from those ridiculous Oklahoma fans, and we all know where they wound up… Ha!
-
You can smell the fear. It smells like burnt orange.
To listen to them, we have had 3 years of easy schedules (including 3 bowls).
Texas picked the wrong year to take a shot at the title. They can talk all the way up till Jan 4th…
And then reality will set in as Thunder and Lightening carve them up like a Christmas Turkey.
When Lienart is passing them senseless.
I hope they bring more game then OK did. They should, they are a very good team.
It would be nice if the best the rest of the nation has to offer could bring some game this time.
-
Oklahoma sucked too last year. Who cares if USC beat Oklahoma, they sucked. Big 12 and Pac-10 are terrible conferences. Big 10 and SEC are much better. ACC is even better than them. Conference USA and Big East are about as good as the Pac-10 and Big 12. They are terrible conferences now, get over it.
California, UCLA, Oregon and USC only had good records because the rest of the teams they played sucked. They would probably lose to Michigan State, Minnesota or a team like that. And those are even the best teams in the Big 10. Face it you guys only look good because you have no defense. USC has a terrible defense and it’s way way way overrated.
Ohio State is without a doubt the best team and this year, and was in 2002 and 2003 as well. Ohio State would kill USC. OSU’s defense would end up killing USC. Leniart or whatever is a big overrated idiot, and will end up sucking in the NFL. Just you wait.
USC isn’t good for a three national championship. Read this –> http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news;_ylt=AnDFaMjXCsbwXr4XzzoDlHAcvrYF?slug=dw-usc3peat122205&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
Lol you idiots are stupid. 🙂 You suck. Gah California Queers piss me off (now I will wait for your lame ass Hillbilly joke, at least I am telling the truth about most of you 🙂 )
PWNED! 🙂 lmao
*Waits for typical immature come backs :)*
-
You’re nuts, Billy, and you’re also an idiot with no grip on reality. Texas played 3 teams with winning records this year. USC played 6 ranked teams! Plus, USC has won an NCAA record 16 straight games against ranked teams and they are still going! This also includes teams from the SEC, Big 10 and Big 12. You don’t know what you’re talking about at all, bevo boy. And your homophobia is funny as hell. You’re embarrasing yourself here. Why don’t you go post somewhere where the other posters have the same 6th grade education.
-
That last post was for Matt, not Bill. Bill posted an intelligent take. 😉
-
I don’t care about Texas. Lol. I ain’t a Texas fan. I know they have a shitty schedule as well, but those ranked teams were great. Just because they were from the Big 12 (who cares about them :S), Big 10 and SEC doesn’t mean they were the best from that league. The five teams that they beat this year that are still ranked are all teams that play bad teams as well and just end up having a good ranking like USC. Thats all. How can you even like this shitty team? 😦 Oh well.
Anyways prove me wrong tell me who they beat that is soooooo good. If they beat Ohio State then i’ll shut up. Until than they ain’t nothing. Beat Penn State even. I know they can’t. Anyways lol I just kidding about California, I guess I can’t trash talk 😦 How you know what my education is? Wow you saying that after one post, you just said that because you’re a USC fan 😦 Which means idiot 😦 That’s all. Lol. Just because I say pwned and lmao doesn’t make me dumb. If you going to make fun of Texas (which is better than USC) than you should be able to take the heat as well. Otherwise you can get out.
Lol you say my posts are bad. Look at this site, and the whole USC fan-base. They are think they have won two national championships in a row, when in reality they haven’t. They won one (over a overrated team like theirselves) thats it. Winning the AP Championship is not the same as the National Champsion anymore, sorry. You need to get with the teams and trying to make yourselves feel better 😦 Be happy Auburn didn’t play you last year or you would have got pounded aginst Willians and Brown.
Quit talking about your lame overrated players. Reggie Bush had those big numbers because he played a lame team (Frenso State :S lol) and its not like they are any good. They make look like they have a good team, but they play bad teams too. That’s all. Reggie Bush isn’t that great, and Ted Ginn Jr. is faster than that idiot. Just wait for next year Ted Ginn will be even faster. He was already faster than him now in his fresman year. But I don’t except you california idiots to understand that 😦
Warning: Don’t insult people and not except to here insults coming toward you. Take it like a man 😦
-
Look there is no denying that Reggie Bush is a dominant player. If he had played in a football conference would he have stayed healthy all year? And another thing talent is not all that its the mental make up of a person that truly defines greatness. (See Marvin Harrison) You can have all the talent in the world and still not make it in the NFL. (See the Heisman List for the past ten years and tell me where half of them are) Look USC is serverly overated. The USC program was in the tanks until 4 years ago. No fans in the stands and no defense on the field. The only thing that has changed is there are fans in the stands. The defense is still missing.
-
Oh and lets not forget that USC is one hard hit on Leinhart from being taken out by the Irish and one blown call against Va Tech from even being a dynasty. GO TEXAS!!!!
-
It’s worse than that, Jeff. USC cheats, bottom line. They did not legitimately win the Notre Dame game — they cheated to win by calling 4 time-outs in the second half, and Reggie “the push” Bush’s illegal shove of Leinart over the goal line. By the rules, USC is not undefeated. I guess that’s about teh USC mentality, though — cheat to win. Thankfully, though, the whole undefeated thing and Bush’s Heisman is thoroughly tainted by their cheating.
-
That’s actually an Oklahoma fan, not a Texas fan. I’ve seen the picture before… this one is obviously photoshopped. You can tell by the facepaint, as there’s some red and white at the top of his forehead… sooner fan right there.
-
Where the fuck are you morons comming from? who moved the rock ? Irish missed they’re chance, last i check the clock is dead when the ball is out of bounds, the irish tried to make the time run out, when clearly the ref. signaled to stop the clock. You must of been one of those idiots that stormed the field only to get kick off to watch USC win, or you got egg on your face in a room full of trojans! ohio st. a joke if they didn’t stop texas they sure wouldn’t stop SC. come on brainstorm tell us how to stop USC. Only a loser would say some stupid shit like cheat, where ever the fuck you come from,go back lock the door sock your mamma for giving birth to your no football knowlege ass. if all your teams were all that they be in the rose bowl, if you had any knowlege of the sport at all. Hey wait, what do you call 200 texans at an orgy? a family reunion! how do you get rid of a texas grad at your door? pay him for the pizza’s!
-
Longhorn fan here. USC didn’t (doesn’t) cheat. They did what they needed to do to win at ND, etc. But Big Guns (and the rest of you delusional USC fans), you need to look at your weak-ass defense and start praying. You are a pathetic 75th against the pass and 40th in total defense (Texas is 5th and 6th, respectively). And the offensive numbers are way overrated. You havent played a defense anywhere near that of Texas’. The best pass defense (and total defense) you played wasn’t even a Pac-10 team. It was fresno state, which was 32nd against the pass and 34th total. In that game, Leinart threw one TD. Unfortunately, fresno state is piss poor (56th) vs the run, so bush had a good game. The best pac 10 team vs the pass you faced was, of all teams, UCLA (pitiful 62nd). And don’t say it’s because you run a pro-style offense. The SEC runs the same shit and had two teams in the top 10 against the pass. You guys played some weak competition. Texas is 5 against the pass and will shut you down, forcing you to run. And everyone knows you cant win when you are one-dimensional. I could do on and on. You havent faced anything close to a dual-threat QB, etc. You guys arent even top 25 in scoring defense (you are 27th, UT is 4th). You played NO ONE in the top 25 in scoring defense. Texas played 3 teams, including one 1 the top 10. That 50 points a game you put up is a joke. Not only will we win the game, we will stomp you (7pts or more).
If you’re going to call Ohio State a joke, you’d better call ND a bigger one because they’re the 4 pt dog to your so-called “joke”, you fucking moron.
And stop hating on the state. We invented fake tits, dammit.
-
And one more thing. Last year Oklahoma was 48th in pass defense. That’s why they got lit up for 332 passing yards and 5 td’s. Expect none of that this year, Trojan fans. And don’t talk about this “streak” you’re on. 2005 USC has not won 34 games. And if you knew anything at all about Texas, then you know that all we do is break streaks. Ask 1998 Nebraska, ask 2001 Nebraska (neither of which you’d be able to beat, despite what the ESPN trojan-cocksuckers thnk), ask 2005 Ohio State. Oh, and we do it on the road. I’d be really surprised if ANY USC fan came back with something resembling an intelligent, fact and/or football strategy-based response. Most of you probably didnt even go to SC, and can argue nothing more than basless, emotion-based bullshit. University of Stupid Children. Hook ’em
-
mighty funny oklahoma whipped texas with the same jackasses that are on this years team, its funny how this weeak ass d whipped on 16 ranked teams, its funny how texas think they got game it’s funny how you just learned how football really works, you should really not open your mouth again, you dont want to hear streaks cause you got no come back for it! that’s like getting mad for playing 1 on 1 basketball you can’t stop the lay up, so you say is that all you can do, yeah cause you can’t stop it! texas 19th streak ends at the rose bowl and they won’t recover like eveyone else, no my friend when you got something important to say we’ll help you, the fact of the matter USC knows how to win! oh for the record i went and graduated and a former player, I played in the rosebowl pal and we kick the shit out of ohio st. so you want to talk fact and not fiction, yeah! toe to toe with every blow! so when you got something intelligent to say let your pre-school teacher know so she can tell a grown up don’t say hook em we know that’s texas prostitute war cry!
-
Big Guns, did you ever even play in that Rose Bowl? Or, were a bench bitch? Since you weren’t in USC for academic reasons, what are you doing right now? Do you greet people as the walk into Wal-Mart? And OU didnt beat the same team as last year. I dont recall Texas having Jamaal Charles, who ran all over OU, and this year’s Vince Young is a lot better this year. And this year’s Texas team isnt last years OU team. I don’t recall Vince Young choking under pressure like Jason White.
-
Ask expected, Big Guns is an inbred retard who get blowjobs from his mom on Sunday mornings. You fucking idiot, Oklahoma lost half its starters from the 2004 team. And dont go talking about your defense “whipping” on ranked teams. 2005 USC hasnt beaten 16 ranked teams, and if you look at the stats, you’ll see Texas has a greater margin of victory over ranked teams than you did this year. I looked up your rose bowl game vs ohio state. You won by 3, 20-17. if you think thats “kicking the shit” out of them, then you’re dumber that i thought. That was in 1985, so you’re probably some 34-year old sports failure going through a bad marriage and a mid-life crisis. You’re reduced to living vicariously (oh wait, you dont know what that word means) through guys you dont even know.
i also asked for some male-driven, fact-based response to my post and what you gave me was female-driven, emotion-based bullshit. give it up, you deluded, worthless fuck.
-
bitch ass punk. # 17 or would you like an autograph photo of me knocking the shit out of a kansas player i own a mutimillion dollar chocolate business thanks for buying my sweets. keep the money comming- broke ass punk-what did you do during the war daddy? hide under the bed shit for brains? redneck trash got your nerve calling sombody inbred your brother/daddy is the fat guy. go suck ya mutha. ya big botty man
-
your bullshit holds no merrit, whatsoever.
-
vince young choked when he played against jason white. by the happily married 4 kids. unlike you wishing you knew what pussy felt like.
-
Just like I thought. Huge sports failure. From playing for USC to selling chocolate to make the mortgage. THAT’S humbling.
What’s the name of the company?
Please stop taking the easy way out and start talking real X’s and O’s. You haven’t put together a cogent response yet.
-
To Chris,
First, you’re allowed to dislike USC. That is warranted. You’re also allowed to be a jackass. However, being ignorant and stupid is something I don’t feel compelled to tolerate, so here is my response to some of your concerns.
The primary issue you keep mentioning is Texas’ dominant scoring defense. Statistically speaking, this is true. However, Texas has played only 2 high powered offenses, Texas Tech, and Ohio State. Ohio State was in the middle of a QB crisis, while Texas Tech is a 1 dimensional passing team, which as you suggested, will not beat a talented, well-coached team like Texas or USC.
USC’s scoring defense is admittedly much lower. However, this correlates to playing 9 offenses in the top 30 in scoring offense. USC has faced multiple balanced, and powerful offenses. Just ask UCLA. That same UCLA team which ran up the score on OU. That same OU team that couldn’t stop, or score effectively on team which is in all respects inferior to USC, and by a large margin.
As for arguing the SEC runs the same shit, explain to me why they can’t score? Is it because they’re defenses are so stellar? ND running up 40+ on Tennessee quashed that notion. Is it becauase Jay Cutler, the QB for 5-6 Vanderbilt is arguably the most effective pro-style QB in the league? Is that why the SEC is so effective as putting points on the board? Is it because Arkansas, the team USC beat by 53, ran neck and neck with LSU to lose by two, in a year when LSU almost ran the SEC table, losing to only Georgia, and Tennessee? Answer those questions about the SEC for me, will you Chris?
As for VY choking, look no farther than the AtM game. A game where VY was supposed to run up the score, and make a statement against a poor passing D, VY choked, and was both an ineffective player, and an ineffective leader. While Bush ran up incredible numbers against a “piss poor” Fresno State run defense, VY was shut down by a horrific AtM passing D. And don’t argue that it was a rivalry game and there was more pressure, etc. Reggie ran for 230 yards in the FIRST HALF of the UCLA game, against a team with numbers as bad as AtMs. The difference is that Reggie didn’t choke under pressure, while VY did.
If you have any responses, please actually address these issues, instead of calling me a USC homer. These are factual issues, that you shouldn’t ignore, especially after throwing a gauntlet down like you did.
Until you respond, Fight On, and BEAT THE LONGHORNS.
-
only because your to ignorant to realize fact from fiction, player hating i played i have a rose bowl ring on my finger what about you all you ever did was line up to watch.don’t worry about the company name pal, just keep putting money in my pocket. texas money is as green as cali money in fact texas is my biggest purchasers it’s your life spend it well!
-
Why dont you name the company you own, Big Guns?
-
cause i like your money

This is a comment to USC link. I would’t say Vince Young choked against A&M. He just had a bad game, as has reggie bush 1 or 2 times this season, and I bet you that he could have easily broke out any time if he needed, but most of the game Texas was in the lead. Rather than trying to do too much, he was smart enough to stay within the game plan and allow the offense to utilize our other weapons, such as Taylor. Remember, it’s not Vince Young vs. Bush and Leinart, it’s Texas vs. USC. We have a lot more weapons than just Vince Young.
I am sure you will agree with this. Wouldnt you rather have a star QB playing the game of his life against Ohio St in the horseshoe or even when being down 28-9 to oklahoma st, than having a bad game against a crappy team where a great performance isn’t even required. Young completely dissected a great ohio st defense when it really mattered. I wouldnt say that we choked having put up 40 points on A&M, they just caught us by surprise with the option that USC doesn’t run. Look I’ll admit, USC is a great team, and it’ll be a really fun game. Obviously me being from Texas, I believe that we will win, and the same with you with USC.
-
now burnttwinky is a brother that knows fact from fiction. go head rev, but texas will still lose.
-
To USC fan:
I actually like USC. They are a fun team to watch and are very talented. Thanks for posting something reasonable. Like you, I also don’t feel compelled to tolerate ignorance and stupidity, so here goes.
Scoring defense issue: I wouldn’t call your Pac10 offenses “balanced.” USC and Cal (mayyybe WSU) are the only two you can say that about. Now, it’s difficult to attribute you scoring defense deficiency to the fact that you faced “balanced” offenses. Is it the great offense, or is it bad defense? Cal had just as balanced an offense last year and was crushed by a Texas Tech team supposedly had no D, yet they put up gaudy numbers on the Pac10 last year. These Pac 10 offenses are “powerful” only because there’s no defense to top them. Remember, you had your lowest scoring day when you stepped outside of the Pac10.
SEC issue: If you’re going to knock the SEC, please do it by talking about average teams, not the bottom feeders. SEC offenses are much more balanced than Pac10 offenses. And the answer is yes, SEC defenses are stellar. As for Cutler, his passing numbers lead the SEC because Vandy doesn’t have a rushing attack. You shouldn’t have to throw the ball 42 times per game and if you do, then your numbers will be inflated. C’mon man, you should know this. As far as Arkansas, LSU, etc, you don’t have much room to talk given that a Fresno State team, which was badly beaten by Nevada, ran neck in neck with USC at home. If Bush doesn’t have the game of his life, you guys lose.
I don’t recall talking about VY choking. I will readily grant you that Vince had a bad game vs AtM. But other players stepped up and helped get it done. On a day when we played like shit, we STILL put up 40. I also wouldnt use the A&M game to talk about game pressure. More appropriate “pressure” situations would be the Ohio State game, the Oklahoma game and the Big 12 Championship. Vince’s play was amazing.
You won’t hear me knock Reggie Bush on here. But I will say the rest of the SC team choked vs Fresno (Leinart – 1TD, Jarrett – 37 yds rec). You could even argue Leinart choked vs ND (0 TD’s, 2 INT). The big game streak will end this year.
BEAT THE TROJANS.
-
if the acc or sec was all that then it wouldn’t be texas would it, vt and auburn had they’re shot! if and or but coulda, woulda, shoulda they’re on the outside looking in. you just keep off the convo, this is about Texas and USC real football teams with real players.
-
I agree, Texas and USC are the only two legitimate title contenders this year. My SEC diatribe was just to show that similar offenses are yielding vastly different point production because the defenses they face are much different. I dont want to talk big 12 vs sec, pac 10 vs acc, etc.
Does any USC fan believe this years team could actually beat 2001 Miami? I’ve got to hear this.
-
If you believe Cal is one of the balanced offenses of the pac-10, you are sorely misled. Joseph Ayoob is arguably the worst QB in the conference. They’re entire offense has been built around Marshawn Lynch and their other star tailback. Ayoob was replaced by Steve Levy against Stanford, and the result was a resounding 27-3 victory. Bearing that in mind, Cal is still a run oriented team, as shown by their ineffectiveness through the air against BYU. Cal is a one-trick pony (two if you count both backs), however, those ponies are damn good at what they do.
I would argue ND, Oregon, and even Fresno State have been much more balanced offenses that we’ve faced. In addition, FSU lost only by 3 to UNR, a team which won their bowl game (awesome game…if it was between marquis teams, everyone would be calling it the game of the season), and a share of the WAC championship. Fresno’s really damning loss is the one against LA Tech immediately after, but on a very poor day from USC, and a very good one from Fresno, we still racked up 50, behind an inhuman effort from Reggie.
As for our lowest scoring day coming from outside of the Pac-10, Notre Dame isn’t exactly a slouch this season. Although we can all debate how worthy they are of their ranking, all of that will be rendered moot after the Fiesta Bowl. And considering that ND had an almost 20 minute posession advantage, that means our offense is still damn efficient. Against a team with quick-strike potential like Texas, our offense will have even more chances to be on the field. 50+ point averages mean lots of quick scoring, and less control, which will equate to both offenses having more possessions.
Regarding the SEC: Tennessee played Alabama to within 3. LSU almost lost to Arkansas. A blowout in that league is a 20 point victory. Although the defenses ARE good, Tennessee’s has been repeatedly touted as one of the best of the league, if not the nation, with the team’s offensive ineptitude holding them back. ND’s performance showed that the all-powerful SEC defense has holes that can be exploited. And since Tennessee has such a potent defense, I am very comfortable arguing that the SEC as a whole is not the defensive juggernaut it is built up to be.
As for VY choking, I was merely addressing your comments about Reggie’s performance being the result of a weak and suspect D. When VY was faced with a similar prospect, he had his worst game of the season, when his Heisman candidacy really needed him to step up and show his colors.
In that same regard, Reggie’s big games have come against big opponents. He shredded Oregon, ran for 150+ in the second half against ASU, went wild on ND, and was superhuman against Fresno and UCLA. Those were the big games or at least the ones that were at all questionable at any time, and thats where Bush made his mark.
As for “still putting up 40” on AtM, that would be impressive if not for that fact that both teams are averaging way above that on poor days. Both teams have hit 70, scored 60 more than once, and are averaging more than 50. You need a better argument here for me to buy it.
As for Twinky, who wrote that VY tore up OSU’s defense, i must disagree. VY did all that he had to win, but that UT offense only put up 23, (2 were that safety at the end), hardly lighting them up, especially considering Minnesota put up 31, and Michigan State (that same team that everyone reams ND for losing to) put up 24. Granted, those are the two worst defensive performances, but at the same time, its hard for me to say that anyone lit up their defense.
-
I don’t think we’ll resolve the question of whether SC’s point production is a result of a great, efficient offense or inferior defenses. It’s definitely a combination of the two but probably of little use to belabor this point.
The ND defense is a slouch. 62nd overall and 45th in scoring doesn’t bode well for your 34-point (9 yards away from a 27-point) effort. And the ball control statement supports my position about the SC defensive weaknesses. You guys couldnt get off the field that day.
The SEC: My whole point isn’t to “prove” the SEC defense is the best in the country (although I certainly think that’s the case..this is the reason why 20 point victories are considered blowouts), it’s just to show they’re substantially better than defenses of the Pac10. ND crushed them in Tennessee’s worst defensive showing of the year.
I would also argue Vince’s best games also came in times of question (OSU, OkSU). Few (if any other) QB’s could engineer comeback drives on the road at the Horseshoe. I agree that Reggie definitely stepped up and led his team to victory in tight games.
There’s no real argument I’m making from mentioning putting up 40 on a bad day other than to show that we’ve got a very deep arsenal of weapons we use to win. Perhaps you could make the same argument for SC. I also think that even if Vince had a 5 TD, 400 yard passing /100 yard rushing day that Reggie still wins the Heisman.
It’s impossible to explain why Minnesota and MSU put up more points than we did. There are a ton of reasons for it. Minnesota played at home, both teams undoubtedly watched the Texas tape a hundred times, Ohio State still reeling from the Penn State loss a week before, etc.
My whole point in all of this is twofold: first, that SC fans (and ESPN, who I really hate right now for this extremely premature comparison of the 2005 USC offense, yes, just the offense, to the great teams of yesterday) should be nervous about the Texas D, because they haven’t faced a defense remotely close to the capabilities of Texas.
second, that in big games that match great offenses against great defenses, the defenses normally prevail. that favors Texas.
good comments man, keep them coming.
-
Too tired for a coherent argument, but I do want to answer the Miami question.
Could this team beat them? I don’t know, dependent upon number of weeks leading up to game, good day/bad day, etc. But if both teams brought their A game, i don’t doubt USC could compete and win.
Honestly though, I think last year’s USC team was a more solid squad than this year’s. The team people should be talking about, in my opinion, is the 2004 trojans. They weren’t quite as powerful on offense, but they’re defense was top notch. I think they were an overall, more competitive squad than the 2005 team.
That matchup I feel, favors USC.
-
To say that the Trojans do not cheat is to ignore the events of the Notre Dame game, and to completely ignore the press coverage that covered it. Every sports news agency wrote about Bush’s illegal push of Leinart (e.g., http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/preview/siexclusive/2005/pr/subs/siexclusive/12/05/sportsman.bush.leinart1212/index.html?url=http%253A%252F%252Fpremium.si.cnn.com%252Fpr%252Fsubs2%252Fsiexclusive%252F2005%252Fpr%252Fsubs%252Fsiexclusive%252F12%252F05%252Fsportsman.bush.leinart1212%252Findex.html), and nearly every sports news agency also covered the fact that at the end of the game the assistant coaches were calling for a time-out, even though they had already expended their third (which should have resulted in a penalty). So, to claim that the Trojans do not cheat means that you are either a liar, ignorant, or at least stupid.
-
yo fool if you really watch football in “this” country everybody does it, and have been since the game has been invented, you tell us how many times it’s been called!?!? first downs, extra yard, touchdowns pay attention to the game on both sides of the ball. keep that shit to yourself
-
Mike,
Yes, that play was illegal. Yes i’ve seen it done in at least 3 other games, and never was it called. As for that last timeout, the ref didn’t see it, and thus didn’t call it. That happens all the time, and sure as hell isn’t cheating.
The clock stopped naturally when the ball went out.
Ding us for the Bush push if you want, but consider the last time you saw it called.
However, don’t you dare call us cheating for 4 timeouts, because it frankly didn’t happen. Bad call by the ref, but those happen all the time and aren’t our fault. Besides, that last timeout means we kick a field goal and go into overtime, not that we lose.
You’re arguing with shitty(and inaccurate) facts to a hostile crowd, you aren’t going to make any progress, especially if you act like an ass.
-
Mike, your “the whole thing is thoroughly tainted by cheating” is all in your pin-head. The “push” DOES happen all the time and even ND coach Charlie Weis said if he was in that position he would hope HIS player would have done the same thing. Get over your hatin’, dude.
-
In all fairness, I understand that the “Bush Push” was by the rules an illegal infraction as listed in the rule book. The discretion of the referees let them make it a non-call. However, there are multiple times in a game especially in blocking that penalties are not called. It seems then alot of teams could be called cheating.
However, I have this to say to people who believe that USC should have been charged with a penalty for calling a timeout. THIS IS NOT A PENALTY IN NCAA COLLEGE FOOTBALL to ask for a timeout when a team does not have any.
RULE 3 SECTION 3 ARTICLE 1 B of the 2005 NCAA RULE BOOK states “When a team’s timeous are exhausted and it requests a timeout, the official should not acknowledge the request.”
Maybe the media and all those who spout off on USC calling a timeout should have taken the time to look that up.
-
Trojan man here with probably an unexpected revelation. We did cheat to beat Notre Dame, and we will likely get killed by texas. I am a diehard USC fan, but i am also realistic….

The trash talk really means nothing. I just can’t wait for the 4th when this thing will finally be decided. But I do have an issue with “trojan man(boy really)’s” comment. The trojan part in your handle must stand for the condums because NO self-respecting SC fan would say what you said. Really, on behalf of all actuall Trojan fans please go join a sewing circle and retire all your SC memorabillia. We don’t need any more pecker tracks like you on our side. The Horns have a great team this year and it should be a good game, but they’ve never beaten us before and I don’t expect to start losing to them now.

I am a Trojan fan. Some of these comments are good, some are pathetic. Objectively, the computer has SC on top, but its close. This game will fall under “on any given Sunday” theory to say the least. Factors in favor of USC include getting experince to their Freshman, upper class men getting healthy and overall experince in pressure situtions year after year after year. Numbers at this point are pointless because the numbers are close enough. The arguments made here keep going in circles. Texas has not faced the onslaught of offenses that SC has faced, and SC has not seen a truly great defense in probably a few years like Texas. If a small Texas school can rack up 29 points on Texas’s great defense, what can the best offense of all-time do??

trojanman take all your usc gear and trade it in for sucla shit, what the fuck are you on? keep it to yourself! you been buying into the some of that east coast and southern bullshit for real. you tell us how we cheated against nd if the ball went out of bounds the clock is ruled dead. the clock does not start untill the ball is snapped. now if your talking about the bush-push you clearly don’t watch enough football and you’ve never played! shut the fuck up TIMMY!!
-
ok nervgarder… lets see, 4 timeouts, the ball when it went out was on the 4 yard line not the one (go ahead and watch the play again), the bush push (which is a penalty that is usually called….not one that really never applies), if you want me to go on i can….the refs were obviously suckin our balls that game. Im glad we won, but when ppl see our new records, i dont want them to think of a game that we really lost. thats all.
-
your stupid. what game were you watching?
