JEAN SCHEIDNES of the Austin-American Statesman couldn’t help but get dragged into the fray when this gem appeared in her paper’s sports section on Dec. 12:
“Can we just get it out there and say it? The USC uniform is pug ugly . . . the Trojans’ combo of dried-blood-and-mustard (or whatever they call that yellow), with the what-the-heck-is-that-insignia helmet, is just a fashion felony.”
A Texas fan is the last person on the planet who should be calling anyone’s colors ugly. (See pot, kettle, black.)
Dragged against my will into the trash-talking rodeo [Austin-American Statesman]
While Jean responded rather eloquently with a Longhorn’s guide to the mysterious customs of Troy, we want to get down to brass tax: senseless trash-talking.
And so comes this picture from a reader who asks how can we possibly lose to people who dress like this?
