In case you missed it…

The LA Times had a great article written up about John McKay…

One night while out at Chasen’s of Beverly Hills with Bear Bryant, a waiter approached with a request.

“Coach McKay,” he said. “Mr. Sinatra has a table in back and wants you to stop by.”

McKay, who already had won two of his four national titles, didn’t budge.

“You tell him to come up and see us,” he said.

Ah yes. It doesn’t get much bigger than that.

In October of 2001, J.K. McKay (John’s son) and Pat Haden snuck onto the Coliseum field and spread John McKay’s ashes over the home sideline for USC.

Since then Pete Carroll and the Trojans have not lost a home game.

One response to “In case you missed it…”

  1. As I watched the Notre Dame game, I didn’t think the OSU defense was that great. As a Notre Dame fan I am sad we lost. But, let me be the first to say I hope you beat Texas by 100. I think they have the weakest conference and if ND defense would of done have a good of job as they did against SC, ND would have won by 21. Then what would that have said about Texas?
