While we are sorry to hear that LenDale White is going to officially enter the NFL Draft later today, we can’t say we blame him. After 3 record-setting seasons at SC as the #2 guy in the Trojan backfield, we’re as excited as he is to see what happens when he steps into the NFL spotlight.
Best of luck LenDale. You’ll be missed but not soon forgotten.
For the same reason some of us refuse to cut our mullets, box up our trophies, and throw away our Bon Jovi Tour ’89 T-Shirts, we don’t want to see LenDale leave. We just want to hang onto the dream for one more year.
It would be great if every one of our favorite players could play at SC for life, but sometimes it’s just time to let go. Personally, I’m happy for LenDale. I think his career touchdown record (passing the legendary Charles White) alone has earned him the right to go to the next level.
Besides, you never know what kind of untapped talent we have waiting. Remember, it was Leinart who replaced the unreplaceable Palmer and Jarret who took over right where Mike Williams left off. We still have Coleman, Reed, etc. Plus, some of the best high school running backs in the country have already signed up this year to carry on the Tailback-U tradition. I have faith enough in our progam to know it’s going to be just fine.
