Before Pete Carroll took questions criticizing Lane Kiffin, he answered them — with some cold, hard stats.
Carroll picked 2003 because the Trojans had a first-year quarterback (Matt Leinart) and eventually relied on freshman tailbacks (Reggie Bush, LenDale White).
“You should look at the comparisons,” Carroll said. “We’re murdering those stats.”
Through the first three games, here are the comparisons:
119 rushing yards/game in 2003.
179 rushing yards/game in 2006.
346 total yards/game in 2003.
417 total yards/game in 2006.
