Matt Leinart did just about all that he could, but in the end, it wasn’t enough for the Cardinals to defeat the Chiefs at University of Phoenix Stadium, or whatever they’re calling the Sombrero in Glendale now. Leinart threw for 253 yards passing and 2 TDs in his first NFL start, and led a brief late game drive to get the Cards in field goal position, but Neil Rackers couldn’t hit from 51, and the Cardinals lost 23-20.

Meanwhile, Leinart’s old teammate/fellow Heisman winner Reggie Bush scored his first touchdown in spectacular style, returning a punt 65 yards for a touchdown, putting the Saints up 24-21 over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. The game helped move the Saints to 4-1 and the top of NFC South.

  1. Reggie Bush became the first rookie in NFL history to score a game-winning touchdown on a punt return in the final five minutes of the fourth quarter or in overtime.

  2. don’t forget about LenDale. he got 6+ points on my fantasy bench.
