Trojans move to 5 and 0

Another squeaker. But another victory as the Trojans roll Washington and Patrick Turner catches a career-high 12 passes for a buck sixteen.

Narrow victories against the Wazzu and U Dub spell vulnerability for the Trojans, even as Arkansas made the Trojans look real good — sticking it to Auburn 27-10.

  1. it’s not going to be easy, folks need to stop looking for reggie and lendale type scoring machine.
just keep knocking em down 1 by 1 however we do it!

  2. Anyone remember this rant by Auburn Coach Tommy Tuberville?

I am glad to see Arkansas stick it to Auburn, especially after Tuberville was bitching and complaining this week that his team will go undefeated and get left out of the BCS title game. Someone needs to tell this guy that he should keep his mouth shut and play the football games.

But man does Arkansas beating Auburn give USC some credibility after assaulting them 50-14 the first game of the season!

  3. Washington has a good team. Despite Turner’s breakout game, he had a couple bonehead plays that don’t show up in the stats, like that errant pass out to the left that he did nothing to defend. Smith or Jarrett would have gone into cornerback mode and not just stood there. No doubt Turner will be a great one, but he is currently a step down from Smith and Jarrett, which hurt the passing game, and in turn hurt the running game. That’s taking nothing away from Washington, which played a solid offensive game all day and played like a disciplined Willingham team.

What’s killing the Pac-10 in terms of respect right now is the Oregon-Oklahoma debacle. There is no way UW shouldn’t be ranked. No way UCLA shouldn’t be in the picture as well. West Virginia, Rutgers, and Louisville are in the Top-25 now on the basis of not having played one another and Miami having a crappy team this year. Rutgers, Boise State, and Louisville are in because the voters feel obligated to keep Cinderella in the race. The pretenders will make room for quality Pac 10 teams in the coming weeks.

  4. can someone tell me what’s up with this new clock rule, a while back i koof mac brown behind the clock rule and i said it would come back and bite the pac ten(duck,us) and it’s going to bite the pac in the ass in the end… watch some big game for one of the top teams in the end!
