Strength of schedule

This year:

USC faced 10 opponents who are going to bowl games and is the only school to play all of its nonconference games against BCS-conference schools.

All of a sudden 10-2 doesn’t sound so bad.

  1. THANK YOU! these types of posts are immeasurably better than the constant negativity on scott wolf’s blog.

  2. Especially considering this is a “rebuilding year.” I expected 9 wins and a good bowl this season…didn’t expect to be in the national title game discussion in the last week of the year.

We’ll lose important senior contributors Steve Smith, Chris McFoy, Dallas Sartz, Oscar Lua, Ryan Kalil, and Kyle Williams; and possibly Dwayne Jarrett and/or Lawrence Jackson will leave early. But there’s a wealth of talent sitting behind (and in front, in some cases) of those players.

Add yet another stellar recruiting class (sealed with a great Rose Bowl win?), and next year could be incredibly good.
