Defending Brian Cushing

You just know that Wizard of Odds waited until I was stuck on a plane for four straight days to drop this post in the queue. As the perfect evidence of the difference between “blogging” and “journalism,” The Wiz dredges up the photos and subject matter of a post from last summer by There’s Your Karma, juxtaposing high school photos of USC linebacker and BoiFromTroy favorite Brian Cushing with later pics whilst he was recovering from shoulder surgery. Asking, “what happened to Brian Cushing?” both blogs suggest that the Trojan from New Jersey is as juiced up as the Governor of California was about the time Cushing was born.

So what happened to Brian Cushing? Well, he had shoulder surgery last year, which probably kept him from going to the gym. When you don’t work out, you get fat.

What happened to Brian Cushing? Well, he was moved from runningback in High School to linebacker at USC his freshman year to Defensive lineman, putting on 35 pounds along the way. Put on 35 pounds in one year, and some of it is fat.

What happened to Brian Cushing? When you claim San Diego Charger Shawne Merriman, who was suspended for four games this season for steroid abuse, as your hero, well, people are going to start to talk–especially if you get almost as many sacks against Michigan as the entire Ohio State Buckeye team!

Is Brian Cushing on steroids? We have no clue. We submit, for your consideration, these more recent photos, which we used the last time we came to his defense, and the fact that it was the Ting Twins, not Cushing, who were kicked off the team for that very offense last summer. Lacking facts, anything else is just idle speculation.
