art-buchwald-thumb.jpgA T-Wire salute to former Trojan, the late Art Buchwald, who attended USC during the 1940’s, and went on to become one of the great humorists of the 20th century — picking up a couple of Pulitzers along the way.

He died of kidney failure yesterday at his son’s home in Washington, D.C. Our condolences to his family and friends.

Humorist Art Buchwald dies at 81 [The Hollywood Reporter]

  1. Nothing against a truly great humorist. But highlighting him here because he attended Southern Cal is a bit reaching? self-serving? It’s not like be graduated from here either. Also, note that he didn’t even graduate from high school either, but he was yet admitted to our school. Uh, that was in the 50’s so admission standards haven’t changed much. We have more famous well-regarded people that have graduated, so it seems awfully desperate. Just my 2 cents. I’m sure I’ll get rammed, but whatever. Post stories about people USC can really call their own.
