Ex-USC standout and current NFL-dud Mike Williams is up for grabs. That is if anybody still wants him. Connor Byrne of RealFootball365.com is reporting that Mike Williams has been waived by the Oakland Raiders after his fourth-quarter dropped pass against the Tennessee Titans cost the Raiders the game.
Despite breaking all sorts of freshman-records with the Trojans, and being selected 10th overall in the 2005 draft, Williams lackluster pro-career has been plagued with disappointments. All that was supposed to change after being traded from the Detroit Lions to the Raiders thus reuniting Williams with former USC offensive coordinator, now Raiders head-coach, Lane Kiffin. But it was more of the same with the men in silver and black, with Williams so far completing only 7 catches for 90-yards, no touchdowns and one fumble this season. Add the game losing dropped catch and Williams waive is no surprise.
The big surprise now will be if any other franchise is willing to pick him back up.
