LSU Loses to Arkansas in 3OT 50-48

“I would like to finish this season and make people wonder who the best team in the country is,” Pete Carroll said following USC’s dismantling of ASU.

Now that the two best teams in the country, the two teams everyone wants to see battle for the title anyways, each have two losses and all but appear to be eliminated from NC contention, what now?

Here come the arguments in favor of the +1.

And here come the questions about whether Kansas, West Virginia or Missouri can really be a deserved recipient of the crystal?

  1. I think you’re disrespecting one of the best teams in the nation. Ohio State. It’s pretty simple that the fluke loss to a good Illinois team (with Juice) shouldn’t take them out of contention. If USC can lose to Stanford and Oregon without losing this cocky attitude, I have no clue how tOSU should act. There’s this residual confidence in USC that is acting as though they have done anything amazing this year. USC has beaten one decent team this entire year. That was ASU and they aren’t even an amazing team, they play a soft schedule and have one good win.

  2. What cocky attitude is being exhibited here by USC? What disrespect is being shown Ohio State?

Yeah, OSU’s loss to Illinois was a “fluke” so it shouldn’t count, I guess? Also, your knowledge of the Pac-10 and/or cfb in general is underwhelming. Oregon was a much better team than ASU and would have been far more likely to make it to the NC game had they not loss Dixon for the season. Meanwhile, the strength *cough cough* of the Big 10 this year proves how tough things were for the Buckeyes? Get over yourself.

  3. loss is a loss, cocky is as cocky does!
oh yeah lets beat up all the cream puffs in ohio and say our schedual doesn’t stink!

  4. I sense no cocky attitude. If you want them to be all depressed that they lost then that is fine, but just realize that if they were depressed we would be ranked last in the country because nobody would play hard. We may have lost and it probably wasn’t our proudest moment, but we have come back and we are working our way back into the top ten. If you (ya) can’t be grateful that at least the team is playing hard, trying their hardest, and enjoying the game, your not a supporter of the SC football team.
So what if all of the teams we play aren’t that great, at least they are schools that people have HEARD of…
