Move over UCLA! Your wiley neighbor to the East may be crashing on your couch for a while. Or in your Rose Bowl rather. That’s right…there’s a real possibility the Trojans could taking over the Rose Bowl for home games next semester. And for you USC season ticket holders, be prepared to pack up your grills and kegs and haul them to good ol’ Pasadena!

As reported by the AP, USC is negotiating with Rose Bowl Officials to move Trojan home games from the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to the Pasadena Rose Bowl as early as next year. USC has been at the Coliseum since 1923 and has sought to continue that 84-year tradition by offering to pay over $100 million for the stadium’s repairs and restoration. But the Coliseum’s management rejected USC’s offer in place of another idea: whoring itself out as potential turf just in the case the NFL decides to throw a team back in Los Angeles.

So this is what it comes down to: The Rose Bowl will here-forth be known as “The Home the USC Trojans.” Oh…and don’t think it will stop there.

Moving an academic section of USC onto UCLA’s Westwood campus is not such a bad idea. How does “USC West” sound? I think it has a nice ring to it.

  1. How are we supposed to win a damn championship if we can’t kick the flag poles?!

  2. WTF? The Coliseum Commission is a total f-ing joke. SC should just buy the damn thing. That way we might even be able to buy beer there again.
