Say it Aint So! UCLA hires Chow…

It’s time to rip up the playbook and start anew. Former Trojan offensive coordinator Norm Chow has crossed over to the dark-side. Or at least the pansy powder blue side. Yes, once USC’s greatest ally, he has become their greatest enemy.

Have you sunk so low, Norm Chow? Have you no self-respect?! UCLA…It’s like licking a toilet bowl in a Bakersfield rest-stop. And I hope the taste lingers in your mouth, Norman. I hope it lingers a long, long time.

  1. Why couldn’t Pete Carroll’s ego have allowed Norm Chow to come back to SC? Yes Sark is a good offensive play caller. However, would SC have lost to Stanford & UCLA the last two years with Chow helping? We will never know will we? In the meantime, the stakes have been raised and if Pete is looking for a bigger challenge, he just got one (if Slic Risk can hold things together long enough over in Westwood). LA could wind up being the center of college football!

  2. Slic Rick got his jd from sc. If he’s so slick then he can thank the sc school of law for making him such a sly fox. hey guys has that horse been sent to the glue factory yet?

  3. Pete Carroll’s ego? Are you kidding me?? Norm Chow wouldn’t come back, even if Pete asked him to. There has always been tension between him and Pete Carroll. Together they were a great force, but when one was getting most of the credit for SC’s wins and success the other had to go. Plus Norm Chow always wanted a head coaching position. He is arguably one of the the best offensive coordinators having groomed 3 Heisman winners and having the uncanny ability to call far-out plays that not even he could know the outcome, but would work out beautifully. It would have been one thing if Norm Chow was the head coach of UCLA. I could respect that, because that’s what he wanted and he would make a great head coach. But to sell yourself like that to the other team that is a new low.

  4. To those who are crying foul at Pete Carroll for “allowing” Norm Chow to leave SC really need to read The Daily News’ Scott Wolf’s article on the Carroll/Chow relationship. It turns out Chow did not appreciate Carroll’s input on offense. What? He’s the head coach. It’s his program. No matter how good of an offensive coordinator you are, you need to respect the hierarchy and process involved. Moreover, Chow did not like Kiffin, who turned out to be a much better coordinator than Chow with the Raiders hiring him and not even bothering to interview Chow.

At the end of the day, if Chow had any respect for tradition and pride, he would have taken the freebie paycheck from the Titans, who still owed him millions and stayed out of the coaching consideration until next year’s NFL moves and not gone to Westwood. This just proves how weak Chow’s spin is and how little he know of what it means to be a true Trojan.

I was a huge Norm Chow fan until this move. He just put a stake in my heart and the hearts of Trojan family members everywhere. Hope when we kick their ass next year he remembers what it feels like to be a winner.

  5. How about recruiting guys away from USC while he was still at USC, but talking to Stanford about becoming their head coach?

Pete Carrol is going to whip out his dick and piss on this guy.
