Hip Hop Elements is reporting that future USC basketball player and child-rapper sensation, Romeo Miller a.k.a. Lil’ Romeo, will miss the rest of the Beverly Hills High School basketball season due to injury. Miller, who was awarded a full scholarship to USC, will rest the injury the remainder of the year in preparation for the Trojans.

There are those who doubt Romeo’s ability, claiming his scholarship is due to his star-power and not his game. While there may be some truth to that, you can decide for yourself by watching Romeo’s highlight video on USChoops.tv.

    This scholarship shows what poor judgment our esteemed coach has.

    While I am sensitive to the difficulties that must be present in trying to lift the program, he’s screwed up by giving him a scholarship over more deserving players.

    Lute Olsen has said no to one and outs because of their obviously destructive influence on the team. It’s even worse when they drag along a cohort of undeserving players. His celebrity only makes it worse.

    A coach can only borrow against the future so much. And in taking short cuts to attempt to launch USC as a premier destination for top players, USC basketball will be much the worse for these decisions two or three years down the line.

    Romeo is actually a good kid. He is a straight A student and appears to have his act together. I personally dont think tim floyd’s decision was bad in selecting him even if he is a mediocre bball player. Romeo with his coachable attitude can potentially be a good college player.
    However I still question the scholarship since Romeo is wealthy.
    All in all it is a smart move by Floyd which I think will help his recruiting.
