USC-Ohio St. is Nation’s Best Non-Conf

The upcoming battle between juggernauts USC and Ohio State at the Coliseum on September 13, is the best of the 2008 season non-conference match-ups, as according to Pete Fiutak of CollegeFootballNews.com. The winner (USC) will likely move early into top AP spot. But don’t start sweating yet. If it’s true that history tends to repeat itself, Trojans don’t have anything to worry about. Ohio State has not beat a USC team in 34 years.

Two other Trojan games also make the top-40 list:

#16 – Notre Dame at USC, November 29th – A chance at Notre Dame redemption? Me thinks not so much.

#31- USC at Virginia. August, 30th – The first match-up between these two programs will prove to be an anticipated season-opener, with the Trojans meeting Virginia on the road to kick off the 2008 season.

  1. Should be a great matchup, can hardly wait.

  2. Seriously, how crappy is cfb’s non-conference slate of games next year if ours against ND is #16? Or is Fiutak predicting the 2nd coming of JC (as in Clausen) for the Irish?

  3. good one, maybe they’re hoping for big things from the irish.
