The national championship game comes early this season. According to ESPN the two head-coaches that most define the BCS’s first ten years, the two coaches that have withstood the test of time are USC’s Pete Carroll and Ohio State’s Jim Tressell (in that order). Carroll’s Trojans have gone 70-8 in the past six years, winning 5 of 6 consecutive BCS bids (including going 2 for 3 on National Championships). Tressell’s Buckeyes have gone 66-11 in the past six years, winning three of five BCS bids (including going 1 for 3 on National Championships). Tressel’s recent image has been tarnished after back to back blowout losses to Florida and LSU in the ’07 and ’08 BCS championships.

For Tressel it’s a chance at redemption. For Carroll, it’s further proof that USC has merely reloaded its weapons. The Game of the 2008 Season, USC vs. Ohio State, goes down 9/13/2008 at the Coliseum.

  1. this is going to be a great game, these two schools love to match up.

ohio state is terrible. pitiful. an embarassment to college football. the play in the pussyass cupcake big ten conference, and dont schedule shit when it comes to nonconf games. this is the first big game theyve played in YEARS in the regular season. at least the pac 10 is fast, and everyone has a skilled team. it just shows how dominant USC is. everyone hates on southern cal. its ridiculous. i guess people would be jealous though when you have the best and smartest coach to go along with a school that keeps on rising, even though to most they already seem untouchable. unlike OSU, they play in a tougher conference, win their games, and win their bowl games. when they get to national championships, they win them; and if they dont… they play a game for the fucking ages circa the 2005 rosebowl. so anybody who talks shit about USC football is a fool.

The Big 12 is a solid conference. Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin, and Ohio State are “Programs.” Some may be down, as USC prior to Carrol, but they have talent. This said, Ohio State will be gunning to beat USC. SC is great, but rep and potential doesn’t win games. The key will undoubtedly boil down to what it usually does ~ the QB, WR, and offense.

Will this year see those highly touted prep stars shine above their “five star” rankings that they gained coming out as prepsters? Will Patrick Turner emerge from his growing pains? Is Sanchez capable of big time plays like “Palmer and Leinart?” Another huge question that must be answered concerns the young offensive line. Who will be the next Deuce and Fred? Can our offensive tackles dominate like Winston?

Last years team was one of the highest “star” ranked teams. But as we all witnessed, Stanford was still able to defeat USC at home. I am not savvy enough to breakdown what transpired on offense, but I did see that what was being called was not working. Forget the fact that the qb’s finger was broken. How and the hell do you not score more points with so much talent?

As much as I love USC Football, they better have their $hit together on the offensive side when big Ohio State comes. Ohio State is “NOT” frikin Stanford. They “ARE” for reals, and they have talent and coaching.

uh, dude… let me start by asking you how this game will be dictated by only offense? how can you even entertain the thought; of entertaining that thought. that shouldnt even be a maybe, when it comes to bringing conversation about this game to the table.

how in the hell could this game POSSIBLY boil down to offense? both of the defenses (im being nice here, cus i think OSUs is way overrated and laurinitis is a fucking joke) are incredible. the one thing that you can be ASSURED of in terms of USC football is their disgustingly filthy nasty in your face on every down defense. they are all over the field, and have absolute freaks out there. everson griffin and clay will be sick rush ends and huge stoppers/threats at the newly re-established “elephant” position. fili and spicer will be very solid at the tackle spots. throw in the quick kyle more to the bunch and the d-line is athletic and impressive. the linebackers, i dont even need to touch base on how good they are. the corners are solid as hell, and some of the most physical and talented in the ncaa. the safeties are a rare breed as well, with the fucking freak taylor mays running a 4.25 hand timed 40 yard dash… at 6’4″ 225 – 240~lbs. no big deal, if that shit isnt scary to an opposing offense idk what is.

with that being said, i would DEFINITELY say that this game will FAR more easily and more logically come down to the way the defense plays. in my eyes, its their game to lose. both offenses (again, im being way too nice here… OSU is all about the beanie wells show, they got nothin else) are very talented, but OSUs offense isnt good enough to pass up the Trojan defense… its just fact. they couldnt even hardly put a dent on LSU and UFs defenses in those championships and those were teams with lesser talent and lesser defensive presence than the Men of Troy. OSU plays nobody, and against arguably the best team(s) [i say that because of turnover, this isnt like the nfl where the team stays in tact] that we have seen in the ncaa this decade and since the bcs was created in the USC Trojans… they will prove once and for all how bad OSU is and how overrate they are due to their lack in scheduling and their weak, run first and control the tempo, pussyass big 10 conference.

USC has a plethera of running backs to choose from. i expect big years out of bradford, johnson, gable, mcknight and i hope to see broderick green get some field time as well. stanley havili proved how versatile and important he is to the offense last season. the receivers have more experience and depth. damian, ronald johnson, ausberry, hazelton and the corps group will shock the nation this year with their big play on any down abilities. the offensive line is young, but very talented. they return experienced youth, and the group is really coming together. there really are no question marks on offense. i think sanchez will do more than a fine job at quarterback.

in terms of the stanford game, there cant be any excuses. i still feel the acid churn in my stomache when i think about how that game played out, and seeing that final corner route caught by that receiver after that fourth down being converted. i can only imagine how pete carroll still feels, when the man hates to lose as it is. but to stanford? the cardinal? the 40 point underdog? no way. cant happen. but it did. i think he shouldve had booty out of there. if you have a broken fucking finger, itll alter your release no matter what anyone says. there were many mistakes, but i think keeping JDB in there was the biggest one. also the frequency of injuries to the team was not a help in that game, or in the season in general.

your post was garbage. why the fuck were palmer and leinart in quotes? who does that? and youve got to be kidding me. i tried to overlook that you said all the fucking big ten teams play in the big 12… but i couldnt help but notice it everytime i parused your dumbass babbling on here. the second paragraph was about as gay as it gets. you sound like one of those retarded magazines prepping people for the season and prompting all those dumbass questions that nobody gives a fuck about. all of those are pretty much answered. you sound like one of those fucking nuts [no pun intended] that reside in colombus when you call OSU “big Ohio State.” get off their dicks, jesus. when have they been big in anything? was it when UF whiped the fucking floor with them in the championship games in two different sports? or was it when LSU proved that OSU cant handle the SEC, in yet ANOTHER huge blowout loss for a title game? idk what youre thinking, but if i was asked to use one word to describe “the” ohio state university… big wouldnt even be on the list; or in the realm of possibilities my friend. and to say they are “for reals, and they have talent and coaching” is unthinkable. how hard is it to win in the big ten? honestly. michigan state, not too good. wisconsin is alright. iowa doesnt even deserve mention. michigan sucks, and has sucked… almost as long as those homo domers in south bend. michigan used to be an NFL factory but theyve fallen off the face of the planet. northwestern? i sometimes forget they even field a football team. illinois has a few athletes right now that are carrying the team. other than that, the big ten is a group of nobodies. its like that one friend that you know that still lives with his parents and is never going to venture out on his own, while all the successful normal friends are the more exciting and tough conferences. give me a break. the big ten has been a bargain basement ten cent whore of a conference for a decade or more. they will be for a long time. OSU does not have talent, they basically have a big ten schedule which slate automatic wins on their schedule every year. the only reason the michigan games are close is because its a rivalry game. and dont even get me started on coaching my friend. tressel fucking sucks. he “won” one big game in his career. the national championship game against miami. that was bullshit. he got a phantom call and it shouldve never been flagged. but whatever, hes a god i guess cus hes won really one game. i cant wait to see the trojans run these motherfuckers into the ground for good. and then just bury them alive. pete carroll had the same layoff as sweatervest douchebag tressel did between his national championship games. and whatd he do? he won his, and the one he didnt win he had his players readied to play one of THE best games in ncaa football history. whatd tressel do? he got his team and his image as a “good” coach massacred like jenna jamison in a gangbang.

now you try one more time to tell me that OSU is even a DECENT team. and that tressel shouldnt be coaching a fucking middle school team right now. give me a fucking break. stay off the boards if youre gonna post some bullshit like that.

fight on… and in the words of nick swardson, party. thats what ill be doing, 2PM eastern time when USC stomps some fucking fags.

  6. Ok Zachy…..I did make a big boo boo with the Big 12. I’m ashamed of that one….but back to my points

    1. The SC defense last year was excellent.
    2. Even with the losses to the draft, this year’s SC defense should dominate again.

With the above said, I assert that SC’s defense will dominate Ohio State.

    1. The SC offense was “not” excellent last year.
    2. While the SC offense does have a plethora of talent, as they did last year, they still might “not” be excellent as a unit.
    3. The Ohio state defense is not excellent.
    4. The Ohio State defense does not have enough talent to match with SC’s talent.

With the above said Zachy, I propose that it will “not” be a game decided by Ohio State’s defense. USI (poly for special zachy), ooops, I meant to say You see Zachy, USC’s offense is the superior talented squad ~ NOT Ohio State’s defense. Screw Ohio State’s defense. Ohio State doesn’t run crap on USC. But………as we saw last year with all that talent, USC offense has found a way to stink it up on the field.

Anyways, I did feel a little bad still from the loss to Texas and Stanford. I say did, because your stupid a$$ put it all into perspective!

I love watchin SC not just because of all their talent, and PC. I watch cause I love watchin all my Poly tamasii’s and uso’s fuggin it up on the field.

So to you Zachy, I say fight on bolo! Should SC lose to Ohio State, mark my words again dumb a$$ ~ it will be because of a poor performance by the offense, not some stellar performance by OSU’s defense.
