We at TrojanWire like to knock UCLA off its moral high- horse whenever possible. Fortunately for us, UCLA has been making our job relatively easy. From Coach Neuheisel’s questionable past to UCLA’s Cadaver scandal, we’ve recently just had to sit back and watch Westwood tumble.

Now new allegations have surfaced claiming that the UCLA Medical Center received a $100,000 donation from a Japanese mob boss, after providing him and three other Japanese “yakuza” gangsters with liver transplants between 2000-2004. During that same period hundreds of Americans in the Los Angeles area died while awaiting liver transplants. According to the LA Times, the generous donation came from Tadamasa Goto, 65, ringleader of the Goto-gumi gang. A plaque on an entryway to a surgery office in the hospital reads,

“In grateful recognition of the Goto Research Fund established through the generosity of Mr. Tadamasa Goto.”
