Is South Carolina impersonating Southern California with this logo?

No.

But intellectual property laws maintain that holders of marks must actively use and prevent others from using similar marks in order to preserve their right to the mark.

Take That, USC! [All Things Trojan]

  1. It’s important to know that we’re talking about our SC baseball mark here- the one that’s been used at Dedeaux for what, at least 30 years now? That’s the one that’s considered to be conflicting with Carolina’s SC. It’s not our SC that showed up in the 90s when we became Nike branded. So it’d be better to put up one of our Trojan baseball team hats instead as comparison.
