Get This to Rey Maualuga

A 5-year-old wants Rey Maualuga to come to her birthday party. Kudos to the kid for spelling “Maualuga” correctly (the backwards “L” was obviously just an artistic design decision). She’s definitely got one or two spelling bee trophies in her future…

My daughter is turning 5 years old this Saturday and, with no prompting from me whatsoever, requested that I deliver a birthday party invitation she created to her favorite USC player, Rey Maualuga. (She ran into Rey at LAX once and he was really nice to her and he’s been her guy ever since.) Obviously, he’ll be leveling Tucson at party time, but I wanted to make a concerted effort to fulfill her birthday wish.

We’re going the easy route and sending it to Rey via Facebook. If others who are linked as friends to him do the same, we think he’ll get this sweet message.

**EDITOR’S UPDATE** We got the card to Rey via Facebook and are hoping Rey can give Sophia a happy birthday wish (or maybe even sing happy birthday??) before the Arizona game.

[Thanks Matt G – may your wish be granted]
