I feel like an idiot when I watch this sort of fake-bad-interview, because most of my brain is unconvinced that the interviewee is in on the joke. Maybe I’m too used to the legitimately awkward Daily Show interviews of yore. But when I find myself begging for some unambiguous sign that Jon Hamm is in on the joke, does that mean I have a bad sense of humor? Or just that Galifianakis is doing exactly what he intends?
