Tonight the 15-7 Trojans (6-4 in the Pac-10) travel to Tucson to play the 16-8 Wildcats (6-5 in the Pac-10) to start the second half of conference play. The Trojans are currently 5th in conference standings and face a tough road ahead. With a win tonight and a win on Sunday vs. Arizona State the Trojans have great opportunity to move up the standings.
USC beat the Wildcats in their last meeting at the Galen Center 65-64. Daniel Hackett sealed the win with a last second free throw. USC won the last two contests against Arizona in the desert but face a hot Wildcats team on a five game winning streak. During that stretch Chase Budinger is averaging 20.2 points per game.
Taj Gibson is expected to play after injuring his pinkie against UCLA. Senior Marcus Johnson is doubtful with an injured right shoulder. Johnson did not practice Monday or Tuesday.
