With the credit crisis deepening, the stock market plunging and two foreign wars going on, the House of Representatives finally got down to business today…considering a resolution to honor USC for their 2008 season and consequent Rose Bowl victory. As reported by Adam Rose, writer for the LA Times, resolution H. RES. 153 sets out to proclaim to the United States just how awesome USC football really is. And it is already gaining national support.

Written by Los Angeles-area Congresswoman Diane Watson, the bill has 10 co-sponsors from California; three from Georgia, New York and Ohio; two from North Carolina; and one from New Jersey, Oklahoma, Florida, Nevada, Texas, Michigan and Washington…And none from Pennsylvania.

If the resolution passes I’m predicting a friendly pigskin scrimmage between Pete and Obama on the White House lawn. Malia and Sasha running linebacker drills while Michelle lays the wood on Rahm Emanuel in an out route gone horribly awry. Should’ve learned from the Shareece Wright hit on Jake Locker some years back. Never tip-toe the sidelines…
