At one point this week it looked like Kurt Warner might be headed to the San Francisco 49ers instead of resigning with the Arizona Cardinals. This would have given Matt Leinart the starting job on a team that just played in the Super Bowl and has arguably the best wide receiver in the league, Larry Fitzgerald. Matt is learning that you can’t always get what you want.

Warner and the Cardinals agreed Wednesday to a two-year, $23 million deal. Warner is quoted as saying,

Now it’s my job for the next two years to go fulfill my part of the deal.

What does this mean for Leinart? Hopefully more pictures of him sticking beer bongs between the lips of hot young coeds, ERRRRrrrrr another season backing up and learning from a potential Hall of Famer. Possibly even a change of a scenery and fresh start on a different franchise.
